Parakeets and parrots

Taming a parakeet or parrot consists of several steps:

First let the parakeet get used to its cage
Let him discover some delights in his cage
Then let him get used to your hand
When the parakeet is used to your hand, you can lure the parakeet with a treat to sit on your hand
The next step is usually to let the parakeet to sit on your hand without a delicacy. If he does, give him something good and tasty to reward him
Eventually you can expand the previous step to different places in exactly the same way.

If the parakeet does everything by itself, the necessary efforts have been worth it because you'll have a tame bird!
