Omega fatty acids

Humans and other mammals cannot produce alfa linolenic acid (ALA), the so-called source or parent molecule for Omega 3 fatty acids, hence why it's considered an essential fatty acid. After intake, the ALA is metabolised into the two most useful fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Both EPA and DHA cannot be credited enough, as they both have powerful anti-inflammatory effects, and have several other important roles in the body.
